The Super Mario World Comic

If there’s anything from the original Mario World comic you want left in, what would it be?

PM us your answer if you want to!

Oh looky here. The first page

Ooh, a sneak preview.

Here’s a little thing to tide you guys over. Feel free to guess what’s going on.

Here’s two extra questions regarding the comic.

Question #7: What do you think the rating for this comic would be?

Answer: I’d say about a hard PG-13 to a flat out R rating. The comic’s not completely finished yet so it’s hard to tell right now. All I can definitely say is, young kids should NOT be reading it when it’s finished.

Question #8: So about the ending to the movie will it be the same in the comic?

Answer: For those who don’t understand, this question is basically asking if the comic will start out where the movie ended. The answer is actually no. This comic starts out 3 months after the movie. Let’s just say Mario has gotten over the events better than Luigi had.

A little Q&A regarding the comic.

First of all, no, these questions haven’t been sent by anyone. These are mostly just questions I felt would be important to answer.

Question #1: Why make a fan sequel in the first place?

Answer: Well for starters, this wasn’t exactly my idea, it was Francisco’s. Also if you ever saw the movie you’d know that it had a hell of an open ending. How could anyone resist continuing the story?

Question #2: I remember seeing a comic with this title a couple months ago but it was all different. Is that a coincidence?

Answer: Actually no, that comic is a beta version of this. Originally Francisco K. was working on this project all by himself with designs that fit the games more. Hell I wasn’t even going to be in the project, we were discussing a different project when he asked me to be to the writer.

Question #3: What’s the tone of this comic?

Answer: It’ll be dark.

Question #4: Is Wart still the villain of this comic?

Answer: I’m not giving away spoilers but yes, Wart is still a main threat in this comic.

Question #5: What’s the schedule of this comic?

Answer: By this rate, a page will be updated every month. Expect a 7-8 panel page as well, unless the situation calls for less.

Question #6: What’s the general plot?

Answer: The general plot is that after Mario and Luigi saved the day, we find out that they actually caused a few more problems. After Koopa was killed, not only were many people fighting take over his reign, but the rightful King also lacked any real influential power to settle this. And as Dinohatten had gotten worse, people began losing hope, some had even committed suicide.

But then a strange prophet named Wart came with a religion called The Frog Faith. It instantly solved most of the problems plaguing Dinohatten. So much so that the city eventually turned peaceful. But old habits are a bitch to get rid of and soon there’s a terrorist group planning to ruin the peace and bring Dinohatten back to its violent criminal state.

To prevent this, Daisy set out to bring the Mario Brothers back and resolve this once and for all. However, there is something much more sinister to this than meets the eye.

Hopefully these questions should get you excited or at least interested in the comic.

With all that said, Stay tuned.

The comic cover. In my opinion, it looks pretty damn good.

Welcome!

We don’t have much right now but hopefully in the next couple of months you’ll be able to view lots of content.

On that note, for those of you who are interested, feel free to ask any questions you might have regarding this project.
